As the blooms are open, they become lighter, bronzer and very blended.  Good stalks and high bud count produce interesting color for an extended period.  It is named after a favorite memory with my oldest daughter.  We stayed at a beachfront home for 2 months while we regrouped after losing our home in the Northridge quake.  She would be very excited to see the 'super dudes' walking out with their surfboards.  The surfer dudes that overheard her rewarded her with big grins.
